At the annual Dartmouth alumni banquet held in New York on January 29, 1929, the men of 1912 were well represented—in fact almost won the cup offered for the best attendance. The following were present: Jim Erwin, Dick Plumer, Randy Burns, Dick Remsen, Wally Jones, Warren Bruner (from Chicago), Lee White, Les Snow, Tom Brennock, Doolie Doolittle, Hugh Eaton, Manuel Garcia, Garry Garrison, Doc O'Connor, Carl Rollins, Alfred Smith, Warren Wheeler, and Manvel Whittemore. Tom Brennock was really with us in spirit, as lie was accorded a seat of honor at the speakers' table. Doc O'Connor left us just before the end of a most enjoyable evening to accept the gavel as president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York.
Of particular note to men of 1912 is the coming election of a member to the Dartmouth Alumni Council to replace Doe O'Connor for the Middle and Southern States District. This comprises the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, states south of the Ohio river and east of the Mississippi river, the District of Columbia, and the province of Ontario, Canada. There has been considerable interest shown among the alumni of New York in the opportunity to select Dick Remsen of our class, not only as being particularly well qualified for this important position, but as well deserving of the honor through his many years of active service in Dartmouth affairs. The election ballots will be submitted to voting alumni in April.

The highest honor that has as yet been received by any member of our class was recently bestowed on Judge Harrie B. Chase of Brattleboro, in his appointment by President Coolidge as United States circuit judge for the Second Judicial District. Judge Chase has been a member of the Vermont Supreme Court, and is now the youngest United States judge in the country. At the time of his appointment by Governor Clement he was the youngest superior judge ever appointed in Vermont. The sincere congratulations and best wishes of 1912 are extended to Judge Chase in his new responsibility.
