The ALUMNI MAGAZINE, through one of its demon reporters, has scooped the following story on the greatest event of the year, the Famous Fifth reunion of the Class of 1924. Other reports will follow and definite plans will be announced in the near future but the facts printed below should be sufficient to start every member of the Class planning for a visit to Hanover at some time during the Commencement period, June 14 to 18 inclusive.
The reunion committee, led by Dave Perry, is planning on three class dinners to be held in Boston, New York, and Chicago on Friday, April 12. At these dinners plans for the reunion will be discussed and attractive programs are planned. Everybody who can arrange to attend these meetings should do so. The Boston group will meet at the Arlington Hotel at 5.30. The New York dinner, which is under the direction of Charles "Red" Holbrook, will probably take place at the Dartmouth Club. Frank S. "Ax" Coffin is arranging for the Chicago meeting and will give out his plans in a confidential direct-by-mail campaign. Those who are planning on com- ing to Hanover in June will find that these meetings are invaluable as dress rehearsals. Those who will not be able to break away from business in June will not feel so completely out of it if they get together with the gang and find out what is going to happen at reunion. Don't forget the date, April 12.
Here are some hints as to what the reunion program may contain:
A ball game with '19 under the direction of Stan Lyon, the unsteady right-hander. A chance to see young Al Martin '24 take the honors away from his big brother Spider '19.
A continual battle of music led by the famous Barbary Coasters, Win Sturdevant and Wally Lord.
A grand picnic at Shanty Shane on Sunday, with an assortment of all kinds of athletic contests including tennis, golf, swimming, baseball, etc.
A Class meeting at Ye Nugget with a showing of all five reels of the Class movie, specialty acts and election of officers.
Plenty of time for bull-throwing at the fashionable headquarters in Gile Hall, Dartmouth's newest and finest dormitory.
