Announcement has been made of the recipients of college fellowships for the academic year 1929-1930.
The William Jewett Tucker Fellowship, awarded by President Hopkins, will go to John N. Hough '27, who held the fellowship during 1927-28 and who has this year been at Dartmouth teaching Latin. This is the fellowship that is paid for out of the funds contributed by the alumni through the Alumni Fund.
William A. Hunt '28 was awarded the George E. Chamberlain Fellowship for the second year and will continue his graduate work at Harvard University. Rowland M. Myers '28 and Henry W. Scherp will again divide the James B. Richardson Fellowship which was given to them last year. George W. Wheland '28 has also been reappointed to the Charles O. Miller, Jr., Memorial Fellowship.
The new men to receive fellowships were selected from the present senior class. Austin L. Starrett of Athol, Massachusetts, was awarded the Henry Elijah Parker Fellowship. Robert K. Carr of Cleveland, Ohio, was awarded the Fred DeMerritt Barker Fellowship. The Hi chard Crawford Camp bell , Jr., Fellowship, which is restricted to men wishing to study in the field of English Literature, was awarded to David C. Mcintosh, Jr., of Dover, New Hampshire.
All of the fellowships are valued at a thousand dollars and the acceptance of a fellowship implies willingness on the part of the recipient to return to Dartmouth as a teacher if his services are wanted.
