A final check-up of the results of the new system of running special trains and distributing the profits shows that during the past year $1,000 have been paid over to the Student Loan Fund, and 32 men were thus assisted. The men in charge of the Boston and New York trains averaged $30 profit, and those running the Western train, about $70.
The Palaeopitus committee in charge expressed satisfaction with the way the new system worked out, declaring that it made for a more satisfactory arrangement, both from the standpoint of the men running the trains, and from the point of view of the comfort and convenience of those riding on them.
