The following is taken from H. C. Pearson's weekly letter to the Hanover Gazette, dated Concord, June 3: "The state board of educa tion holds a regular meeting this week, at which, it is presumed, the two new members added to the board last week by the governor and council under an act of the recent legislature will take their seats. One of these is James A. Wellman of Manchester, a prominent business man of that city and a trustee of the University of New Hampshire by appointment of Governor Huntley N. Spaulding. Under the legislative act two members of the board of education are to be from the board of trustees of the University."

John Barrett was kept from our recent reunion by a slight accident, received in New York city, while he was actually on his way to take the train to Hanover.

Ralph Bartlett attended the reunion, but the following news item in the Boston Transcript of June 20, will explain why he could not stay until the end: "Ralph S. Bartlett, of 108 Mt. Vernon St., sailed today from New York on a French Line steamer for travel in Europe, and expects to be away until October. After a short stay in France, Mr. Bartlett will go to Norway for July, following which his plans for further travel are not yet fully made. Mr. Bartlett has been for years an inveterate traveler, and there is scarcely a civilized country which he has not visited."

Chester Curtis has the unusual record of having attended thirteen consecutive Commencements after graduation, and this year's reunion was the first he has missed. Illness of Mrs. Curtis and some unusually exacting business duties forced him to stay in St. Louis during the days he had planned to be in Hanover.

Ferguson returned from a business trip to England just too late to come to Hanover for the reunion. He telegraphed his greetings, June 17, on reaching New York.
