SEVENTIETH REUNION
In the beauty of rare June days the Class of 1908 held its final reunion at Hanover June 9- 11. While only three classmates were able to attend, the presence of those who had gone before was felt everywhere.
A toast to all members of the Class, present or absent, alive or dead was drunk at the dinner. A solemn moment.
The College did its best to make our visit a happy one. Special tables were reserved for the Class for dinner on Friday night at Thayer Hall and for the alumni luncheon Saturday noon at the Inn. A special room at the Inn Saturday night was provided for the Class dinner.
Those who sat down for dinner were John(Rosy) and Jenny Hinman, Charlie Walker and his wife, Walter Furman, and Walter's son David and great-grandson Walter. Mary Craumer, the pleasant daughter of our late classmate Bill Knight, and Brian Alpert '81, the efficient and agreeable aide furnished by the College, were also there.
Informal meetings were held Friday and Saturday nights and many tales told of former days.
Curiously, all three classmates present entered college from New Hampshire, and all three flaunted fairly heavy heads of hair. Speaks well for the old granite state.
We all took off for home Sunday morning with glowing thoughts of a most memorable meeting.
Seventy years of memories brought John Hinman (left), Walter Furman (center),and Charles Walker back to the Hanover Plain to stand up for the Class of 1908.
