A meeting of the trustees of Dartmouth College was held at their room in the Parkhurst Administration Building in Hanover, on June 15th, 1929.

There were present the President and Messrs. Parkhurst, Thayer, Brown, Little, Howland, DuRois, Tuttle, Knight, McLane, and Gray.

Resignation and Election of Mr.McLane as Trustee.

The resignation of Mr. John R. McLane as trustee upon completion of his term of service having been received and accepted, and a letter having been received from Eugene F. Clark, secretary of the Alumni Association, stating that Mr. McLane had been nominated to succeed himself as trustee, a ballot was taken and Mr. McLane was unanimously elected by full vote as his own successor.

Election of Mr. McLane asClerk A vote by ballot for clerk of the board of trustees of Dartmouth College resulted in the election of John R. McLane and he thereafter qualified by being sworn by Harriet E. Mansfield, Notary Public.

Award of Degrees Upon the recommendation of the faculty degrees were awarded as printed on the Commencement program.

Gifts VOTED to accept with the thanks of the Trustees the following gifts announced by the President.

From Mr. Robert Jackson of the Class of 1900 the Francois Premier mantelpiece from the chateau Chenonceau in France which has been placed in the new Carpenter Art Building.

From Mr. Emmett H. Naylor of the Class of 1909 a portrait of Richard Hovey, painted by Edmund Clarence Messer.

From the Class of 1887 a portrait of Dr. Charles Alexander Eastman of the Class of 1887, painted by Julius Katzieff. From Mrs. M. D. Carbee of Haverhill, New Hampshire, the John Dester Locke Collection of Insects.

From the Class of 1913 funds of approximately $25,000 to equip the Reference Room in the Baker Library to be known as the 'Class of 1913 Room."

From Gerard Swope, Esq., the sum of $25,000 in appreciation for the benefit received by his son as a student of Dartmouth College, and further in appreciation of his own business training received under Mr. H. B. Thayer.

Report of Committee on Physical Development and Maintenance of the Plant. The committee reported through Mr. Thayer.

Construction of New Dormitory VOTED: That the plans for a new dormitory to be erected east of Fayerweather Bow, submitted by the committee on physical development and maintenance of the plant, be approved and that the site east of North Fayerweather and on. the axis of the Davis Field House be approved and the

ceed with the erection of the building in accordance with vote of the trustees passed April 23, 1928, the building to be ready for occupancy in September, 1930.

Appropriation for Model of the College Plant VOTED: That the committee on physical development and maintenance of the plant be authorized to expend $10,000 in starting the development of a model of the college plant with the expectation that this will be extended to include ultimately such portion of the territory surrounding the Village of Hanover as the committee may deem advisable.

Appropriation for Housing Accommodationsfor Faculty Members

VOTED: That the committee on physical development and maintenance of the plant be authorized to expend not exceeding $75,000 in providing additional housing accommodations and garage facilities for members of the faculty.

Demolition of Culver Hall VOTED: That Culver Hall be demolished during the coming year.

Demolition of Sanborn Hall VOTED: That Sanborn Hall, heretofore used as a dormitory, be demol- shed during the coming year.

Demolition of Hubbard Hall

VOTED: That Hubbard Hall be demolished after the new dormitory east of Fayerweather Row has been erected.
