DECEMBER 1930 Charles P. Woodworth

Dick Southgate, who is at present at the Shelton Hotel in New York city, spent the summer at Larry Treadway's summer resort at Ashfield in the Berkshire mountains. During a week-end in October which he spent with the Dick Lanes, he was such an inspiration to the Secretary that he made the best score in seven years on the Weston golf course. Dick writes that he has learned that Harry Storrs has been elevated in his profession by an appointment as superintendent of a new institutionformentaldefectives at the Wassaic State School, Wassaic, N. Y., which is about twenty miles east of Poughkeepsie, N. Y. He also advises that A 1 Farrier, who is now with the American Car and Foundry Company, has been busy this fall officiating at football games.

Joe McCann's son, who is a freshman, is a member of the College band, playing the clarinet.

Vic King writes that he has another son, Jamie H., in the freshman class, and that he also has two other boys preparing for Dartmouth. His oldest son, Victor R., is a senior. He has been conspicuous in College as a hammer-thrower, establishing the College record, and recently his freshman brother won first in the interclass meet. These boys are experienced sailors. Victor was a member of the crew of the Malay which won the ocean race held in June from New London, Conn., to Bermuda. During the summer, he won three out of six races in the intercollegiate sailing contests at Long Island. Jamie won one race in the interscholastics at Long Island, and also captured the championship of the "Freak Box" class at Barnegat Bay. The Kings would like to see any of the class when in the vicinity of Bound Brook, N. J. Jack Stilphen has been an occasional visitor there.

Bill Grimes won the newspapermen's golf tournament early in November at the Belmont Springs Country Club with an eightyfive.

Bill and Helen Cummings came to Boston from Skowhegan, Maine, to attend the Harvard-Dartmouth game. Helen reported a wonderful year abroad. Her interests are now centered in farming at Skowhegan.
