Blakey and Kittredge were not burned out in the conflagaration which swept Nashua in May, although Blakey suffered some loss on the destruction of an industrial plant in which he was interested. Blakey attended Commencement, as his son graduated in June.
Prof. George P. Bacon, dean of Tufts Engineering School, represented the institution at the Montreal meeting of the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education the latter part of June. His two daughters continue to excel in intellectual life. Dorothy has leave of absence from her duties at Smith College the coming school year, and will study in New York under a fellowship of $3600 granted by the National Board of Economic Research. The younger daughter, Elizabeth, has passed her general examination for a doctor's degree, and will devote the coming year to her thesis. She also has a fellowship from Badcliffe College.
Judge Wallace of Canaan represented the class at . the annual meeting of class secretaries at Hanover in May.
