Prospects for this year's team are better than ever, for seven of the lettermen of last year's squad are again available. M. G. Tucker '32, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is captain of the 1931-32 team. For three years Tucker has been on the squad as a figure skater and has the unusual record of having placed in every meet in which he has entered.
L. E. Wakefield '33 of Minneapolis, Minn., Intercollegiate Figure Skating Champion for two years and one of the greatest point winners on the team, will be on hand to do more than his share. In addition to his intercollegiate activities Wakefield was runnerup in national junior figure skating.
Dartmouth speed skaters were largely responsible for the victories last year—and two freshmen brought the results. J. A. Shea '34, of Lake Placid, New York, former North American Speed Skating Champion and present Intercollegiate Champion, has the distinction of having won ev.ery race he has entered. Shea is practically certain to represent the United States in the Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid this February. J. D. Mahoney '34 of Malone, New York, finished second to Shea in almost every race. Between them they should contribute a great deal to the record of this year's team.
