During his stay in Hanover Commencement speaker George Mitchell had a reunion with longtime friend and former teammate Paul "Pags"Paganucci '53, Tu '54. Mitchell grew up in Waterville, Maine, with Paganucci, former vice president and treasurer of Dartmouth, now chairman of Ledyard National Bank. Although "Paggie" was actually one year ahead of "Georgie," they played together in the town baseball league. The robust Paggie became the catcher, while Georgie, the smallest boy on the team, played the less strenuous position of second base. The former teammates met again on the Green when Dartmouth's head legal counsel Cary Clark '62 picked up Mitchell at the airport and mentioned Paganucci would like to see his old buddy. "It was nice to meet up with my catcher again, Mitchell.
