Commencement Rail Rates
MAY 1931

Through an arrangement recently made with the railroad passenger associations of the various sections of the country, it will be possible for alumni returning to Hanover for Commencement to use the certificate plan of fare and one-half if 150 or more persons take advantage of the offer. Certificates must be secured at the home station when tickets are purchased and these should be presented immediately upon arrival in Hanover at the Boston and Maine ticket office in College Hall. Alumni returning to Hanover from nearby New England points, as well as from a greater distance, are urged to secure certificates from the station at the point of entraining in order to assure reaching the required number of 150 participants in the plan.

More detailed information concerning train schedules from Boston, New York, and Chicago, allowing for connections from intermediary points and the west, will be included in the general announcement of Commencement to be sent later to all alumni. Attention should be called at this time, however, to the service to be offered by the Boston and Maine Railroad, from Chicago and return. A special car will leave Chicago at 10:30 a. m. (summer schedule) June 11 arriving at Norwich and Hanover at 1:04 p. m. June 12. This train will leave Cleveland at 7:05 p. m. June 11. On the return trip the special service is offered leaving the Hanover station at 2:15 p. m. June 16 and arriving in Cleveland at 8:20 a. m. June 17 and Chicago at 3:30 p. m. that afternoon. Special car service will also be in force from Boston and New York to White River Junction June 12 and for the return trip June 16.
