The freshman baseball team breezed through six straight games before losing to Andover by a single run, and it appears as though the class of 1934 were going to furnish a great deal of varsity material next year.
The freshmen have had the same lineup in each game, and have found a brilliant pitcher in Bob Miller, who is a real strikeout artist. He has started in all games save two, and has scored victories over some of the best first year teams. Harvard and Vermont were beaten, as well as Worcester Academy, St. Anselm's, Tilton and Clark.
Arthur, Morton, Spain, Edwards, Kraszewski and others have been playing good ball, and the team's batting average is around .400, an unusually high figure. Edwards is the captain of the team, and his work has been outstanding in the field.
Brainy Bower has been putting his Junior Varsity nine through the paces, and this organization which is so valuable as a training school for future varsity players, has won from New Hampshire and Boston College freshmen, but has dropped games to the Harvard Junior Varsity and Vermont Academy.
