JULY 1931

Another event of the luncheon was the announcement of the election of William W. Grant, Jr. '03, of Denver, as a trustee. He takes the place of John R. McLane '07 as alumni trustee, elected by the board of trustees upon nomination by the Alumni Council. Mr. McLane was made a life trustee at this time, succeeding to the place left vacant by the resignation of Albert O. Brown '78 after twenty years of service. Mention of Governor Brown's resignation and a quotation of the resolution of the board of trustees regretting the loss of his presence on the board is included in the account of the Commencement meeting of the trustees elsewhere in this issue.

Mr. Grant is elected to serve as trustee for a term of three years. He has just concluded six years' service as a member of the Alumni Council. He was a speaker at the alumni luncheon at which his election as trustee was announced, representing the parents of the graduating seniors. His son, William W. Grant 3d, graduated this year, and another son, E. H. Grant, graduated with the class of 1930.
