Bookplate Collection

A valuable collection of bookplates has been given to the Baker Library by three alumni of the College, P. S. Marden '94, M. B. Jones '94, and V. M. Cutter 'O3, according to an announcement by Professor N. L. Goodrich, librarian of the College. C. E. Goodspeed, well-known book dealer, has added to this gift 16 proofs of other engraved work of Sidney Smith, the artist who designed the 110 bookplates included in the collection.

Smith was recognized as one of the best designers in this country. The collection and the additional engraved work of the artist are considered to be of high value.
