The annual banquet of the Cleveland Club was held on February 16. W. H. Bemis '18 presided, and Dean Laycock was the principal speaker. Forty-seven members were present, including H. W. Slabaugh '18 and W. J. Bunnell '22, who came up from Akron for the occasion.
The Dean's speech was devoted principally to discussion of certain questions in which he had found the alumni particularly interested, in the course of his trip. He mentioned particularly the financial condition of the College, the policy of the administration relative to enrollment, and changing fashions and attitudes of mind among the undergraduates. At the conclusion of the banquet many of the members remained to talk informally with the Dean.
The Dartmouth Club of Cleveland has had a successful year. The membership list includes about two hundred names. Meetings have been held regularly every Saturday noon at the Statler Hotel, and the Club has taken an active part in interviewing applicants for admission to the College.
On January 8 the Club held its annual election with the result that the following officers were chosen to serve for the ensuing
