The board of education of Passaic, N. J., recently elected by unanimous vote Arthur D. Arnold, for 30 years principal of the Passaic High School, to be superintendent of schools at a salary of $7,000 a year, taking effect September 1. On the day following the election every school in the city sent flowers to Principal Arnold's office, and he was the recipient of hundreds of messages of congratulation.

On their return trip from their winter home in St. Petersburg, Fla., to their summer home in Fryeburg, Me., Dr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Lougee covered 3,000 motor miles, visiting New Orleans, Muscle Shoals, and numerous other places of interest.
