Scene at the summit of Mount Washington, where Robert S. Monahan '29 (on roof) and Alexander A. McKenzie '32 (at left) are assisting Salvatore Pagliuca, electrical engineer, in radio-meteorological observations sponsored by the New Hampshire Academy of Science. The Mount Washington observatory has been recognized by the International Polar Year Commission as part of the network of stations, at isolated but strategic points, through which it is making a concerted attack on many current meteorological, magnetic, and auroral problems. Both Monahan and McKenzie were prominent in D. O. C. work when undergraduates.
