In Triangular Debating League Dartmouth with Cliff Lyon '10, Ben Williams '10, Ralph Lauris Theller '09 and Burt Cooper '11 as alternate won from Brown— and with Phil Chase 'O9, Ralph Richardson '09, "Ski" Shaw '10, and George Morris '11 as alternate defeated Williams.
Tom Morrissey 'OB, Capt. Ben Lang '09, "Dutch" Schildmiller 'O9, "King" Brady '10,ack Dingle '10nd Johnny Mullen '11 were awarded basketball letters—Bob Burns '09 and Cap Hedges '10 were given "BDB."

Ben Lang unanimously elected basketball captain—"Plum" Leighton elected hockey captain—it is rumored that the New York alumni are going to provide a hockey coach next winter—Arthur B. Meservey 'O6 chosen next Rhodes Scholar from New Hampshire—being the third Dartmouth man so honored—the others are Julius Arthur Brown 'O2 and John R. McLane 'o7—Horace Hurlbutt appointed postmaster, having acted in that capacity since the Famous Hanover P.O. Robbery in January where the window was broken from the inside—Charles H. Dudley showing one of the best lines of woolens ever shown in Hanover—Wallie Ross 'O9, Henry E. Meleney 'O9, and Maurice C. Blake 'lO elected president, vice-president, and treasurer, respectively, of the D.C.A.—in a crowded mass meeting the student bodyvoted to support the Athletic Council in its baseball disqualifying action of the previous fall—among the speakers were E. K. Hall, Bobby Bartlett, Jim Richardson, Jack Clark, Art Stuart, Tom Field, Bill Minsch, Craven Laycock, Porter Smith, Ralph Lauris Theller, A. H. Schoppelry, Tom Morrissey and Joe Donahue.
William H. Pearse 'll won the Rollins Prize; Ralph Lauris Theller 'O9 won second place and Maurice Blake 'lO took third place—T. I. Dunn, Bill English, Art Lewis and Joe Donahue, all of 1908, participated in the Justin A. Smith extemporaneous debating contest; English and Lewis winning first and second places, respectively—Dartmouth's G.O.P. organized with John A. Clark, president; E. B. Badger, vice-president; F. F. Priest, secretary, and L. M. Symmes, treasurer—Charlie Libby, Allen Doggett, Herrick Kidder, Harry Hunter, Ed Raabe, Guy Carpenter, Harold Benjamin and Jim Everett elected 1910 Aegis Board—George A. Crittendon, William H. Gane, Oscar B. Gilbert, Raymond L. Giles, John J. Kenney, Howard A. Knox, Halsey B. Loder and William S. Quigley graduated from Medical School.
Dramatic Club on extended trip to Greenfield, Springfield, Oak Park, 111., Chicago, Rockford, Omaha, and Cleveland —following men on trip: 'OB, Art Blood, George Squier, Art Lewis, Art Soule; 'O9, Ced Wellsted, Fred Carroll, Ogden Brown, Fred Morawski; 'lO, Charlie Fay, "Piper" Donovan; 'll, Austin Keough—student body sighed with mingled feelings at announcement Chief-o'-Police Gauthier was not to be dismissed—Hanover used to be a tough spot for "Brass Buttons"—in first game of freshman-sophomore basketball series 1911 won from 1910, 11-9—Capt. Hart and Kimball excelled for freshmen and A 1 Ricker and Jack Ryan for sophomorespandemonium plus roughness reignedsecond game sophomores won, 29-15-Capt. Hedges 'lO being outstanding man on floor; they also won the third game which was fast, close and rough, score at half being 9-9—Johnny Mullen and Kimball played strong games for 1911 while Jack Ryan and Cap Hedges were all over the floor for 1910.
White River Junction entered a complaint against undergraduates being "boisterous" at the Gates Opera House-an unthinking agent plastered Hanover with fliers on "Human Hearts, An Idyl of the Arkansas Hills" featuring Hazel Whitcomb (whoever she was) as Ruth Larkin, the heroine—said undergraduates having touch of "spring fever," a common Hanover malady, bought 300 of the best seats at 50 cts. per—and just did have a good time— the programs invited trouble with these two suggestions "THE LADIES in all cities remove their hats" and "The audience will please remain seated until after the final curtain"—the "townies" in the poorer seats complained of acoustic qualities—and the traveling theatrical group was glad to leave town alive.
