An invitation has been extended by the College to all alumni class and association secretaries to come to Hanover for the week-end of May 12 and 13 for the twentyninth annual meetings of the Dartmouth Secretaries Association. The Hanover Inn is reserved for the accommodation of these men who are expected to the number of about 75 to attend the business and social events of the two-day sessions.
Following the policy adopted last year of meeting in various new buildings on the campus, the secretaries will first gather in the 190 a reading room of Baker Library at 2:30, Friday afternoon. The second and final business meeting will be held Saturday morning in the same room, with adjournment planned for noon Saturday to permit members to see the Columbia league ball game that afternoon or to take advantage of the invitation of the Hanover Country Club to play golf at Hilton Field.
President and Mrs. Hopkins will entertain the secretaries at an informal tea and reception Friday afternoon at 4:30 to which wives of secretarties are also invited. At 6:30 the complete series of College movies for the year will be shown in the Tuck School lecture hall. The annual dinner of the Association will be held in Stell Hall, the dining room of the Tuck School, at 7:30 that evening. The program for after-dinner speaking is now tentatively arranged to include President Hopkins; L. K. Neidlinger '23, president of the Athletic Council; and J. S. Monagan '33 of Waterbury, Conn., secretary of the senior class. F. H. Horan '22, president of the Association, will be toast master at the dinner and will preside at the business meetings.
Speakers on the business program will include C. F. Woods '04, Alumni Councilor from Boston; J. C. Sterling '11, chairman of the Alumni Fund committee; J. G. Hodge Jr. '29, secretary of the Northern New Jersey Club; S. C. Hayward '26 and A. W. Frey '20, editor and business manager of the MAGAZINE; and J. C. Davis '19, secretary of his class. As librarian of Baker Library, Prof. N. L. Goodrich will welcome the Association to the use of that building. A number of committee reports are scheduled for the Saturday morning sessions to include a discussion on subscriptions to the MAGAZINE, consideration of methods of keeping class records, and a report on "Dartmouth College News," the ahimni movie service operated by the Association.
As a feature of the week-end program the awards to the "Best Class and Club Secretaries" will be announced by the committee in charge, consisting of John M. Comstock '77, alumni editor of the MAGAZINE, Charlotte E. Ford, alumni recorder of the College, and S. C. Hayward '26.
