Lindley R. Dean of Denison University is president of the Ohio Classical Conference and gave an address on "Honoring Horace" at its twelfth annual meeting this fall.
Shopp has just informed us that he has a two-year-old baby, of which we had not heard before.
We have started making inquiries as to the fellows who are surely returning next June. So far, we have heard from twenty-three, and of these twenty-three, sixteen will be there, the other seven being doubtful. If this ratio keeps up, we will have the largest attendance ever. Returning:—Frank Austin, Phil Avery, Sam Bell, Curly Blake, Bob Burns, Ed Chappelear, Ben Dudley, Harry Floyd, Sandy Hooker, Al Newton, Frank O'Brien, George Oliphant, Hal Prescott, Sawny Reagan, Joe Worthen, and Bob Holmes.
And we are going to work on the doubtful ones. They simply can't afford to miss it, and we will prove it to them.
We understand the President will appoint various committees about the first of the year and we want to put before these committees all of the various ideas about costumes, parties, etc., that can be obtained. Write me promptly what you think about reunion plans, what we ought to have or do, etc., so that we can have as many data for these various committees as can be obtained. Criticisms and suggestions are not only invited but earnestly desired. -We are going to do our best to have things just as the class wants them to be, and it would be a great help if each one of you would write in detail just what he thinks about it.
Meanwhile, a lot of you haven't had your pictures taken as yet. If you can't reach a Bachrach studio, send me the most recent picture available, even if it is only a snapshot, and whether you are going or not. We need this also by the first of the year.
We have just been told that Chase Brooks died in October. We haven't heard from Chase for a long time and know very little about his circumstances except that he was practising law in New York. We are trying to get more for you.
