This is my first opportunity to inform you of our class officers meeting, which took place at Hanover on May 3 this year. Bob Ehinger presided and all class officers were in attendance with the exception of Bud Hall, who had a conflict. Phil Harmon gave the treasurer's report—no surprises. As of April 30
we had income of about $10,000 and expenses of about $7,000, with the Henry PerleyEagle Internship stipend to be paid as well as our athletic sponsor contribution, which will bring us to rough equilibrium. Bud Kast discussed our participation in the Alumni Fund campaign (which will be history as you read this). Bob Ehinger reviewed our class project: Henry Perley Eagle Internship contribution to the Native American program, as well as our contribution to the Athletic Sponsor Fund. The fall mini-reunion will take place this year at Hanover on the Columbus Day weekend, October 11-12-13. (The holiday is observed on the following Monday.) Bob and Pauline Field have reserved the Tindie Room at Thayer for dinner on Friday evening, the Smoyer Lounge on Saturday morning, and, after the Holy Cross game, the Wheelock Room at the Inn for dinner. Mark it on your calendar; it promises to be a great weekend.
We haven't seen Don or Dottie Clark since I can't remember when, but a while ago Charlie Cusack routed a letter to Don through me yes, I have the most recent info on all of us from the resources of the alumni association and Don was good enough to send me a copy of his reply to Charlie. In his letter Don described their trip to California in March which began with a time share exchange in the San Diego area followed by a drive up the coast visiting family and friends and culminating in an Elderhostel program at the Hidden Valley Performing Arts Center. Don, when may we learn about your trip to Turkey? Charlie Donovan's letter of a while back advised that Cal and June Osberg are well and enjoy frequent trips to Hanover to enjoy performances at the Hopkins Center. Red Krumm's letter advises he broke an ankle just in time to prevent him from playing in the U.S. Seniors with Frank Hartmann, then learned that Frank was unable to play as well. Red reports he spoke with George Lowden, Bill Simons, Bob Field, and CharlieWebb and describes them all as A OK. Sadly I must report to you the deaths of our classmates Bud Fuller, Norm Askey, and BobFosdick. We offer our sincere sympathies to their families.
