Recent reports from Washington inform us that after a thorough investigation by the Post Office Department, Postmaster Jim Farley is willing to be quoted in the statement that members of the class of 1927, Dartmouth College, buy fewer postage stamps than any other group in the country. He's telling us? Say, if we had received just one more letter from one of youse guys last month it would have meant a one hundred percent increase. Grab a piece of paper and a pencil and figure that one out if it isn't too difficult, and while you still have the pencil in your hand jot down a few tasty bits of news and mail them this way.

SEEN IN HANOVER

Due to the aforementioned deplorable situation, Gus Cummings, our demon reporter, made a special trip to Hanover to see what information he could dig up, and incidentally to see the Norwich game. In spite of the fact that it was a wet weekend (it rained, you know) Gus managed to see and talk with Fred Holden, Wilbur Kennedy, who was on from Ohio, Rog Bury, Dinty Gardner, and Don McCall, who was waiting for Rog Salinger to arrive. Reported to be in Hanover were Josh Davis, John Upham, and Nibs Dowe, but they could not be located. The latter according to our reporter was hiding under someone's umbrella, but later reports seem to indicate that he attended the game in disguise lest some sophomore ask him why he wasn't in the Delta Alpha parade. Gus was most enthusiastic about the team, and says that even discounting the fact that the opposition was weak, they looked good.

Al House dropped in at the office the other day, and we learned that he is back here in the East for a while. Al received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin last June, and this year will be at Wilson Teachers College in Washington, D. C., as an instructor in history.

A note from Charlie Huntley, down in Harlingen, Texas, informs us that the hurricane of a year ago last December didn't do a bit of good to the citrus fruit industry. It seems the New Deal hasn't decided yet what it's going to do about hurricanes.

Tony Parker is building himself quite a reputation as a raiser of pedigreed dogs. He is reported to have quite a clutch of Doberman Pincers, and among them a couple of past grand champions.

Dr. Hale Ham gave us a very pleasant surprise by phoning the office to inform us that he is to be located in Boston this year. Hale recently received an appointment to some research work in blood chemistry at the Thorndyke Memorial Laboratory connected with the Boston City Hospital. He will also do some teaching at Harvard Medical School.

Hooker Horton writes that he is no longer with the Dartmouth Club in New York, and is now living out in Mt. Vernon. Harold Starbuck is living in Hartford, Conn., where he is auditor for the Hotel Bond.

Curt Wright and Ken Ballantyne were both seen on Cape Cod this past summer, where they were the guests of Charlie Bartlett. Curt has left Milwaukee and is now living in New York, where Ken is still working as a trader for Kidder, Peabody.

Lyn Smith is a minister and has a church up in Shelburne, Vt.

Ethan Hitchcock is now working for the Inland Marine Dept., Travelers Fire Insurance Company, in Hartford, Conn.

Also in Hartford is Clark Edmonds, working for the International Harvester Company.

Chuck Carroll is now a practicing physician out in Fort Collins, Colo.

Gordon Hope, living down in Greensboro, N. C., is Southern representative for the A. M. Tenney Associates.

Vic Duplin is now living down in Augusta, Ga., where he is working for Babcock & Wilcox Company.

Bill Ward is living in Bayonne, N. J., and works for Cinesnap, Inc., in Newark.

Don Lacoss is now teaching at the Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, N. Y.
