The Dartmouth soccer team opened its Intercollegiate Soccer League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Fitchburg State Teachers College on October 6, and followed this up with a 2-0 decision over Rensselaer on the following Saturday. The Green booters, coached by Tommy Dent and captained by Edwin J. Harvey '35 of Ridgewood, N. J., are favored along with Springfield to capture the first league title.

The Dartmouth attack has been featured this season by the work of Dean Gidney, junior from Ridgewood, N. J., who scored all three goals in the Fitchburg contest and one of the Indians' two goals in the Rensselaer game.

Lettermen on this year's team, in addition to Captain Harvey and Gidney, include Dean H. Couper '35, Littleton, Mass.; E. Grant Meade '35, Philadelphia, Pa.; Henry H. Orcutt '35, Demarest, N. J.; John M. Shelmire Jr. '35, Moorestown, N. J.; and Walter J. Mosenthal Jr. '36, Upper Montclair, N. J. Other members of the team are Welbourne W. Lewis '36, Middletown, Ohio; Barker C. Carrick '36, Keene, N. H.; Alan F. Kline '35, Chicago; John H. Devlin Jr. '37, Belmont, Mass.; and Walter A. Stewart '36, New York City.
