The Green coaches made a surprise move in starting Captain Jack Hill at Ithaca in a desperate effort to secure passing and kicking, but the Green leader had been out of the swing of things too long, and his fumble on his own 15-yard line gave the Red team a scoring opportunity early in the game. A pass, Condon to Stofer, turned the trick, and Cornell gained a 7-0 lead.
Dartmouth came within a point of tying the score early in the second quarter, when a 32-yard pass from Chamberlain to Johnny Matzinger, reserve end, and the latter's dash over the remaining ten yards produced the Indians' only score. Cornell came back with a passing attack that car ried 65 yards for a second touchdown. Stofer, a southpaw passer, tossed to Irving for 30 yards and then to Condon for 15 more. Switzer failed to gain on a running play, but his pass to Condon produced a first down on the 8-yard line, and a fourth pass, Switzer to Stofer, made the touchdown.
