The Big Green eleven closed its 1934 season with a 38-13 defeat at the hands ofPrinceton in Palmer Stadium on November24. The Tigers ran up a 32-0 lead in thefirst half of the game, but were outplayed bythe aroused Indians in the last two quarters.Fumbles, poor kicking and weak pass defense on Dartmouth's part enabled Princeton to score five times in the opening half.Constable rushed across the first Tigertouchdown, after which a blocked punt,two long passes involving Garry LeVan, andSpofford's SJ-yard dash produced fourmore tallies. Le Van's 57-yard gallop setthe stage for Princeton's sixth and finaltouchdown early in the third quarter.
Trailing by 38 to 0, Dartmouth uncorkeda savage attack, and play was in Princetonterritory for the remainder of the game.With the Tigers backed up to their goalline, Constable fumbled and Gordon Bennett recovered the ball in the end zone fora Green touchdown. The second score camein the last quarter when Dartmouthmarched 51 yards in seven plays, FrankNairne finally slicing through tackle forthe touchdown.
