The Southern California Association is about to put the finishing touches on its 1933-34 season. The annual meeting and election came in April with the advent of beer. The San Francisco Association held its meeting on that memorable day, April 7. The wise men of the South decided to give the beer a chance to age, so held their meeting on the 27th. Sixty-three men attended; speeches were few, but, however, the football situation was discussed.
President Jerry Barnes '11, imbued with true outing club spirit, organized a party of thirty-five to motor up Mount Wilson. Dr. Walter Adams '98, director of the observatory located at the top of the moun- tain, explained the constellations and their relationship to one another and then made predictions about the football situation.
The weekly luncheons held at the University Club every Tuesday have been well patronized. Many out-of-towners have visited us. During the summer months the undergraduates came in frequently; a special luncheon was given in their honor. They spoke on various phases of college life, including the football situation, and then answered the many questions of the interested alumni. The freshmen committee, Ray Bennett '13, Dave Bradley '03, and Dick Merrill 'OB, deserve credit for their efforts in securing and selecting boys for the entering class. They have sent six to eight boys each year for the past four years.
Dartmouth Night was celebrated in the traditional manner at a dinner meeting. Forty-two loyal sons attended. Wee Kimball '11, a member of the Alumni Council from New York, delivered an inspired talk on present day Dartmouth—not forgetting the football situation.
The annual dinner dance was well attended. It was held on January 19 at the Mayfair Hotel, where Spike Hamilton '23 and his orchestra are playing sweet music. The latest release of the Dartmouth News was shown and enjoyed.
