Early in July we were delighted to find in our mailbox an invitation from Bob andEmily Turner to attend their daughter's wedding. Since this is the first wedding of a classmate's child that we have been privileged to attend, it shocked us a little bit to realize how fast our kids are growing up. Well, we squared our shoulders, pulled in the stomach as best we could, and drove over to the First Congregational Church in Darien to witness the wedding of Miss Linda Turner to Mr. James T. Pearson. It was a beautiful ceremony, and was followed by a lovely reception at Bob's home. There, Sherry, daughter Betsy and I ran into FredBunce and his charming wife Mildred, along with their three children. Fred and I talked Bob into having the photographer waste a film on the three of us, and the result is shown below. For three old goats who are already making plans to attend our 25th Reunion, we don't look too bad, do we?

It's remarkable sometimes how news travels so many miles to finally get to your secretary. By way of Lou Valier in Honolulu to me in Connecticut I have a story on Roily Kent down in Mexico City! It seems that early in 1957, after eleven years in Mexico as truck and bus sales manager there for General Motors, Roily was transferred back to New York. As one would expect, the transfer came without warning, just as Roily and Belem were about to move into a brand new house they had just built. Roily put up with New York commuting and extensive traveling for about 18 months and then decided he had had enough. Since General Motors couldn't see their way clear to transferring him back to Mexico City, he resigned his position and shipped his wife and two children back to Mexico anyway. Before settling down to the problem of finding another occupation, Roily and Belem took a three months' vacation touring Europe. After all those years with General Motors, Roily couldn't get too far away from his old company, so he has now wangled a General Motors' franchise for diesel engines for trucks, and has built up a successful business in this line. Any of you going to Mexico might note his present address, Sierra Paracaima 760, Mexico 10, DF, telephone 20 95 15, for Roily makes the comment that he would be "tickled to see any of the old boys who might be passing through."

I have before me the notice of a change of address for Larry Brooks, who now resides at South Street, Marion, Mass. This move is occasioned by the recent appointment of Larry as Alumni and Development Director for Tabor Academy, an assignment which I'm sure he will enjoy. Thanks to Larry's letter writing we learn that JerryCross has just bought the Andover (Mass.) Bookstore which he is now operating along with his fuel supply business; and that Wes Wallenius is director of speech therapy in the Brookline (Mass.) public schools.

Several of our large group of insurance men hit the news this month. The first one on the list is Art Kenyon who was recently promoted to manager of the Rochester, N. Y., office of Aetna Insurance Co. Art has been with Aetna ever since graduation. He moved to Rochester in 1945 and became associate manager for that territory in 1956.

Back in August Fran Fenn earned a trip to Hawaii as a guest of National Life Insurance Co. of Vermont, to attend the firm's educational meeting in Honolulu. I guess most of you know that Fran is associate general agent for National Life in Hartford, and for twelve consecutive years has made the Million Dollar Round Table.

Then too we have word that Garry Lowe has been elected an assistant secretary of Hartford Life Insurance Co. Garry joined the Hartford Insurance Group in 1948, and has recently been serving as administrative consultant in the Group Department.

Finally, we have two quickies on which we have no details, and would like to get some. One concerns Fred Forsch who late this summer became associated with Kuhn, Loeb and Co. as manager of their research department. The other concerns Howie Longley who has recently been transferred by General Electric from their Lynn (Mass.) plant to their Burlington (Vt.) operation.

That's all for now. Don't forget the dates - June 14 through 17 - Thirty Seven's 25th Silver Jubilee!
