HERE IS A cross-section of the Class of 1908 which has withstood the ravages of a quarter of a century in good shape. Insofar as the mortality statistics available are concerned, the dozen specimens arranged in the drab habiliments of Commencement Day of 26 years ago was about to start for the last round-up which took place in Webster Hall. The commencement was notable in that it was the last presided over by the beloved William Jewett Tucker. The picture was taken near the Senior Fence and includes a glimpse of the gloomy (now deceased) mansarded bank building where checks were cashed on the ground floor and, under the eaves, the Theta Delta Chi brethren held lodge each Wednesday evening, or was it Thursday?
From left to right, all living today at last count, the 1908 stalwarts in the picture, with their June, 1908, addresses are as follows: Henry Stowell Emery, Salem Depot, N. H.; Frederick Kent English, Wareham, Mass.; Howard Knowlton Williams, Cleveland, O.; Lauris Goldsmith Treadway, Wollaston, Mass.; Joseph Sprague Dunham, Brooklyn; Harry Bean Kennedy, Spokane, Wash.; Stanley Pearl Nute, Farmington, N. H.; Thomas Paul Morrissey, Springfield, Mass.; John Alexander Clark, Evanston, 111.; John William Corcoran, Brookline, Mass.; Seymour Suffee Rutherford, Waddington, N. Y.; Theodore Ira Dunn, Rockport, Mass.
