Reports now are coming in from those who traveled extensively during the summer on business or pleasure bent. "T.D." Jewett took Bobby (who enters next fall) to Scotland for the summer, but spent some time in London and Paris. They traveled and rested part of the time with Nat and Dorothy Rice, especially in London. Line Morton was in Europe on business.

And then there were those who spent some time in Hanover: Dutch Barends, George Stiles, Nor Catterall, Carl Forsarth and Wilkins. Dutch was making a call at the department of research in physiological optics at the Medical School about his eyes. The work of that department is known throughout the world now.

In the Parent and Child Tournament at the Oakley Country Club, Belmont, Mass., on Sunday, September 15, for children under 17 years, H. S. Tuck and C. S. Tuck won 78-68. The selected drive alternate shots with 1-2 combined handicap were used. And at Staten Island, at the Richmond Country Club, in the mixed Scotch foursome competition, the low gross winners were Mrs. Henry H. Nutt and Roger C. Clement 79, and low net winner, Miss Ruth Tysen.

The State Department last month from Washington made public the names of 280 foreign service officers given promotions and pay increases. S. Pinkney Tuck of NewBrighton, S. 1., was promoted from Class ILL to Class 11.

Phil Sauer is president of the Calhoun Coal Co. in Minneapolis with home address of 4030 Linden Hills Blvd., that city.

Earle S. Bidwell has moved from Providence, R. 1., back to Hartford, Conn., and has taken his insurance business to Room 316, 410 Asylum Ave., Hartford. He now lives at 175 Beacon St., Hartford.

Ben Hartshorn has moved from Reading, Mass., to Portsmouth, N. H., where he is cashier in the First National Bank in that city.
