A chat with Morry Hubbard. I knew his voice, the same as 72 years ago. He and Libby, a Dartmouth date, have been married for 63 years. They're still living in the same house bought in 1945, but with elevators for 10 years to accommodate his wheelchair. He gets around, though. They had Thanksgiving lunch at the Union League Club in New York. Ed Marks and Vera were in New York for the start of the Dartmouth Experience campaign. A film included Ed as an "international humanitarian" and Karen Hein, M.D., DMS'68, I rv and Ruth Kramers daughter, who has devoted her life to global health issues. Have you read Eds memoirs, StillCounting:Achievements and Follies of a Nonagenarian? It had great reviews. Get your copy at University Press, (800) 462-6420. George Blaesi is cool now, moving from Sun City, Arizona, to 50 Ruby Ave., #230, Eugene, OR 97404. Cal Keirstead reports that some years ago, after selling his Hartford building supplies company, of which he was president and wife Phyllis was treasurer, Florida beckoned. In 1976 they bought a beachside condo in Fort Lauderdale, living there year-round since 2000. They used to golf frequently until an auto accident three years ago but they're still walking. Their Florida volunteer activities have been their church, Meals on Wheels and a state program, Health and Rehab Services, visiting older people and filing a written report. For this they won annual and 20-year awards.
