Benjamin M. Hartshorn on December 15th last assumed his new duties as Vice President of the National Rockland Bank of Boston. Ben will live in Cambridge this winter and will probably spend as much time as possible at his beautiful farm at Rye, N. H., purchased, as we reported, last summer. He is active in Masonic circles and is a member of the Bektash Shrine of Concord, N. H.
Under the heading "The Press" in Time, December 1, 1941 is a long article on the Chicago Tribune, publisher Colonel Robert Rutherford McCormick, and mention several times of Managing Editor J. Loy "Pat" Maloney. "In his 24th floor office in the $18,000,000 Gothic Tribune Tower the Colonel runs the Tribune strictly according to his, and nobody else's whims, fancies, prejudices. From his red and white marble desk runs a direct wire to Managing Editor J. Loy ('Pat') Maloney. Over it all day the Colonel feeds his ideas. His story suggestions go forth initialed 'R. R. Mac,' meaning that they get into the Tribune for sure, and generally page i. 'Pat' Maloney, who flew with Rickenbacker and wears a Phi Beta Kappa key from Dartmouth, is a hard worker "
Just before the MAGAZINE went to press last month we learned of Louis Gale's death. There was time to publish an article in Necrology which we hope you saw.
We apologize for an error in the mention of Charlie Archer's farm. He lives at Marshfield, Mass., not Mansfield. Now we can report the arrival of a grandson, David Lee Whitcher, Betty's son, on Sunday, December 7, 1941.

Vic Dunbar's son Donald has a job this year in Sid Hayward's office in the Ad Building. The Dunbars now are at 1804 Campbell Ave., Schenectady, N. Y.
The Lawrence Stoddards have left Connecticut and now are at 208-05 109 th Ave., Queens Village, Long Island The Henry Proctors have a new home address of 51 Villa Ave., Edgewood, Providence, R. I. Henry is a social worker at 94 Doyle Ave., Providence.
