HANOVER

Just to get a breath of fresh air, we drove through Hanover on our way to the law factory at Cambridge-sur-Charles. Unfortunately, we had no time for visiting. Nor did we arrive in time to see the football team grunt and stomp around Memorial Field. In relation to the booters, our only prayer is that they be not permitted to wear again those jerseys, introduced last year through an unfortunate innovation, and colored a sickly washed-out green instead of the sturdy, masculine green of old.

Having released this deposit of spleen, which we have been stowing up since the last Harvard game, we can reveal all about two campus characters who are growing in prominence 'neath the elms at Hanover (and as far away from the Orozco frezcoes as possible).

One is Slim Connors, whom we met at the smoker for the freshman class in Commons. Slim was not wearing the 1933 numeral sweater which, according to reliable reports, he flaunts in the faces of the inhabitants when influential members of the class like ourself are not about. Some of our patres in urbe should take this matter up with Mr. Connors.

The other character we found at the Inn, behind the desk, an unctuous smile on his face, and one hand ready on the Old NewEngland Hospitality switch. He was Larry O'Leary, of your own class, sometime maitre d'hotel of the Inn Coffee Shop. He is clerking at the Inn.

Larry reported that Forrie Branch had just become the father of a girl. We would appreciate a little more information on this subject.

CAMBRIDGE

All the 1933 men who were here at the Law Sshool have returned this year as far as we have been able to ascertain. We have seen most of them parading along the walks which circle Langdell Hall. They include Darrow Dutcher, Bob Estes, Hank Hawgood, Don Lincoln, Dan Rollins, Bill Starr, Sam Stephenson, Arnie Salisbury, and Sid Stoneman.

We have not seen Stephenson, but the only reason is that we have not visited "the breek's" (one of the local bierstubes) as yet. Sam lives there.

One of our local scouts tells us that Bun Mudge, also a Cambridge resident (insurance), has but recently become a parent. We have been unable to discover the gender of the offspring, however.

Bobby Burns of Boston wrote recently to announce his enrollment among the horde of ALUMNI MAGAZINE subscribers and his continued employment at the Shribman Orchestra Agency.

Before we pass on to another month, we had better mention meeting Gay Milius last August at the Hambletonia in Goshen, N. Y. His liquor business takes him through that territory. And being, of old, a loyal turf-fan, he couldn't resist the lure of the great trotting classic.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

The latest candidates for the blissful state from the ranks of '33 are Jud Pierson and Ken Spang.

Jud was to be married on the 11th of October to Miss Alice Virginia Cox of Plainfield, N. J., as we went to press.

Ken had already been married (October 5) at Stamford, Conn., to Miss Mary Louise Miller.

Lest the authorities at Hanover try to pull the Nazi censorship act again this year and try to keep our actual whereabouts a dark secret, let us inform you that we shall be, until next June, at: Morris C 31, Soldiers Field P. 0., Boston, Mass.
