Edgerton '79 is acting cashier of the Northfield Savings Bank Upton '79 goes home tomorrow to fill a temporary vacancy in the Monadnock National Bank at East Jaffrey, N. H James T. Fields, LL.D., will lecture in the College Church this evening on "Fiction, Old and New, and Its Eminent Authors." Dartmouth extends to Mr. Fields the cordial welcome to which his distinguished abilities and his friendship for the College so eminently entitle him Wa-Hoo-Wah! . . . . Prolong the second syllable of the Dartmouth yell, utter the last with a forcible staccato and the effect is superb Dartmouth at last has a yell which fully represents its Indian origin. Indeed, listening to the terrific war whoops we hear these balmy evenings, we can almost believe and easily imagine that three or four hundred festive Redmen are exhibiting their fierce war dance under the exhilarating effects of Norwich firewater, Wa-Hoo-WAH! ! ! !-Wa-Hoo-WAH! ! ! ! .... The freshmen held a class supper at St. Johnsbury on election day. The boys report a bounteous feast and jolly time generally. Vive la '82 Great has been the havoc among freshmen whiskers this week. Three sets were cut down in in-fancy by the "Barbers' Union," which numbers about thirty and is a movable concern "Pease be still! you may get cut." .... Captain Bobby Thayer is going to put the University Nine through a course of training in the gymnasium this winter Hough is going to spend the vacation at the "Bird's Nest." He will be back at the beginning of next term.
