The annual fall meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council was held at the Hotel New Weston, New York City, on November 22, with Carl F. Woods '04, of Winchester, Mass., presiding. President Hopkins spoke at the afternoon session of the meeting, following the Council luncheon, and talks were also given by Clarence G. McDavitt '00, president of the Dartmouth College Athletic Council, and Prof. Charles A. Proctor '00, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Outing Club. Other officers of the College who attended the sessions were Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23, dean of the College; Robert C. Strong '24, dean of freshmen and director of admissions; Halsey C. Edgerton '06, treasurer of the College; and Albert I. Dickerson '30, executive assistant to the President.
A report from the special committee on bequests was presented by Ford H. Whelden '25, of Detroit. Other reports included a discussion of Alumni Fund procedures by John W. Hubbell '21, of New York City; an outline of revised activities of the committee on admissions and schools by "John R. Burleigh '14, of Boston; a report from the committee on alumni projects by Benjamin W. Couch '96, of Concord, N. H.; a report from the committee on undergraduate affairs by Dr. Arthur H. Ruggles '02, of Providence, R. I.; a report from the committee on alumni solicitation conflicts by Morton B. French '03, of New York City; and a report from the nominating committee by Edwin R. Bartlett '04, of Niagara Falls, N. Y.
Following the afternoon session, members of the Alumni Council attended a reception at the home of Basil O'Connor '12. Many members of the Council attended the Dartmouth-Princeton football game on the following day.
