According to the revised sections of the Alumni Council constitution having to do with nominations, the secretaries of all approved alumni clubs and associations have been notified that nominations to the Council must be made not later than March 10. Although the method of electing men to the Council remains the same, the nominations for places will be made this year for the first time by alumni clubs in the several districts. A provision of the constitution also allows for any group of 100 or more alumni to make nominations, as explained below.
In the New England States district, Richard E. Pritchard '14 of New Britain, Connecticut, completes the term of the late Arthur A. Adams '94 of Springfield, whose death last year left vacant a position to which Mr. Pritchard was elected. Mr. Pritchard is eligible for reelection.
In the Middle Atlantic States, Richard Remsen '12 of New York City completes his second term of three years on the Council and is not eligible for reelection.
Ford H. Whelden '25 of Detroit will complete in June his first term of office and is therefore eligible for reelection from the Central States district.
In the Western States group W. A. Green Jr. '14 of Dallas is not eligible for reelection since his residence now falls within the new Southern district.
Frank J. Reagan 'O9 of San Francisco is eligible for reelection from the Rocky Mountain and Pacific States district since he will complete his first term in June.
In the newly created Southern district it will be necessary to elect three Council representatives this year. Three nominations will be submitted by the secretaries of alumni clubs in the South. These will be balloted upon by all alumni qualified to vote who are resident in the district and the man receiving the highest number of votes will be declared elected for a full term of three years; the second highest number of votes will qualify that nominee for a term of two years, and the third highest for a term of one year.
According to Article V, Section 3, of the Alumni Council constitution, nominations beyond those submitted by approved alumni clubs may be made as follows:
