LAWRENCE TIBBETT, baritone of the Metropolitan Opera Company, came to Hanover on March 18 and captivated apacked house with his songs and genialpersonality. Music-lovers from milesaround and a goodly portion of the College community squeezed into WebsterHall to hear the operatic, concert, radioand screen star sing a program that rangedall the way from Emperor Jones and Pagliacci to the lightest of ditties. Thestudent-yell "More!" was ringing throughstately Webster Hall when Mr. Tibbettfinally withdrew into the wings after along string of encores.Interested listeners at the concert wereMr. and Mrs. Laurence G. Sherman '17, ofBrattleboro, Vt., who are the brother-inlaw and sister of Mr. Tibbett. A familyreunion took place at The Hanover Innfollowing the recital.
