Secretary of the College

J. Michael McGean '49 has been named by the Trustees to succeed the late Sidney C. Hayward '26 as Secretary of the College. Mr. McGean has been closely connected with alumni affairs during the past twelve years as Mr. Hayward's assistant.

Mr. McGean will be liaison officer between the College and the Alumni Council and General Association of Alumni. He will also continue as director of Dartmouth Alumni College which he helped organize and has administered since 1964. All class and club activities including regional conferences and alumni reunions, newsletters, special awards, club scholarship programs, Dartmouth Night, and the College Guide Service will be handled by his office. He will also oversee the work of the Alumni Records Office.

David E. Orr '57 continues in his post as Assistant Secretary of the College. Major General (ret.) Walter I. Miller '22, Secretary of the Dartmouth Alumni College Association, will also be working with Mr. McGean this year on the planning and operation of the third session of Alumni College.
