The Dartmouth tennis team also headed south during the spring recess and divided four matches, winning over the Pinehurst Country Club, 9-0, and William and Mary, 9-0, and losing to North Carolina, 7-1 and 7-2. The Green party included Captain Bob Husted, Paul Guibord, Ralph Seeley, Doug Mook, Norm Anderson, and Bob Neill.

Guibord scored Dartmouth's only point in the opening match with North Carolina, defeating Captain Walt Levitan in the No. 1 singles match. Anderson and Neill were ahead when the third doubles match was called on account .of darkness. The match with Duke on April 2 was cancelled, so the Green netmen remained at North Carolina for a second encounter. Guibord again took the No. 1 singles, and Seeley captured the No. 3 match for Dartmouth's second point. The team's poor showing was attributed partly to the necessity of playing the Tarheels on concrete courts instead of clay surfaces. Guibord and Seeley played consistently good tennis throughout the southern trip.
