The son of the late Hon. John W. Gordon—Mayor John A. Gordon of Barre, has been nominated by the Democrats as the candidate of their party for representative of the city in the 1937 General Assembly of Vermont. His popularity seems to forecast his election to the position once held by his father.

Alfred W. Robertson, son of Prof. Samuel W. Robertson '83, the present representative from the city of Santa Barbara, Calif., in the General Assembly of that state, has been renominated for the position to succeed himself in the coming session of that legislative body.

Mrs. Nellie Cate Patterson, aged 76 years, beloved wife of Walter B. Patterson, Dartmouth '83, recently retired supervising principal in Washington, D. C., public schools, and once prominent as a soprano in the city's musical circles, died Monday night, September 21, at her home, 422 Randolph St., N. W.

Mrs. Patterson enjoyed city-wide recognition, both as a soloist and choral leader in many of the Capital's leading churches. Recently, after giving up active musical work, she had been a prominent figure in St. Paul's church, Rock Creek Parish, of which she was a member. She served as a president of the Woman's Auxiliary, vice president and secretary-treasurer of the Rectory Guild, and, while a member of the Daughters of the King, she had charge of the altar.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In February, 1934, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, who must feel and greatly deplore the loss of her love and devotion, he having recently suffered a partial shock; and three children, Mrs. H. A. Harding and Mrs. R. N. Wells, both of Washington, and Lieut.-Col. R. B. Patterson of Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 23, at the Hines Funeral Chapel, and interment was had in Rock Creek Cemetery.
