English, Lee F.~The Secretary was glad to receive a cordial letter from Lee's son Ralph L. in December. We hope that Mrs. English and Ralph will feel the urge to be with us at our 50th.

Gove, Frank E Gove writes that he is far beyond the Townsend age, and hence his winter address is Pasadena, Calif., Hotel Vista Del Arroya (Lougee's son Richard says he looks about 40). We feel sure from his cordial letter that the sight of an 'BB man would give him a great kick. Let me quote from his letter: "A telegramthat you will land in Pasadena on a certain train would give me one thrill." Why! he even urges the Secretary to forward requests from the Alumni Office for funds to be forwarded to his winter address. Otherwise his letter seemed quite normal.

Lougee, W. W— Doc and his good wife joined the Cate household for a depression Christmas dinner, hence we are able to report that both are good sports as usual. Mrs. Lougee let the Secretary in on a secret, that they were making plans for a trip to California via the Canal. Later—Have talked with Doc on the telephone, and he reports that they will sail on January 18 if the unexpected does not happen.
