To the Editor:
ON RECEIPT OF the February '36 issue of the DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE I noted a slight error on page 24 in the article on "Judge Dana '7l Dies."
I then concluded to try and forget the statement that the Judge, Dr. C. L. Dana, and John Cotton Dana '7B, the Librarian, were brothers. In fact they were cousins. That they were not brothers plainly appears in the Necrologies on page 31 of the same issue, their parents were different.
To all their contemporaries in College it was well known that they were first cousins.
This slight slip has been so frequently called to my attention by others, including the family of my classmate, C. L. Dana, that I conclude to call it to your notice.
