Professor Fletcher's Gown

The College has recently been the recipient of a gift of the academic apparel of the late Robert Fletcher, director emeritus of the Thayer School of Engineering, who died on January 7, 1936. Professor Fletcher's immediate surviving relatives, Mrs. Fletcher and Miss Mary Fletcher, have presented to the College his doctor's gown, cap, and two doctor's hoods, one for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy which he received from Dartmouth in 1881 and the other for the honorary degree of Doctor of Science which he received from the College in 1918.
