Eight seniors and one alumnus have been named by President Dickey as recipients of James B. Reynolds Scholarships for Foreign Study and, for the first time in many years, all nine have elected to study in Great Britain.

Receiving awards of $2BOO each for a year of study are four who plan graduate study at Cambridge University: John H. Bieging of Stillwater, Minn., astrophysics; Richard E. Galardy of Pittsburgh, Pa., chemistry; Gary N. Horlick of Arlington, Va., history; and Cornelis D. Van Vorst of New Lebanon, N. Y., classics.

Three men will attend Oxford University: G. Thomas Couser of Melrose, Mass., English literature; James T. Malysiak of Brookfield, Ill. and Christopher H. Nevison '67 of Mendham, N. J., both in the field of philosophy-politics-economics.

Michael J. Machan of West Allis, Wis., will study Near Eastern languages at the London School of Oriental and African Studies, and Robert Tannenwald of Washington, D. C., will study economics at the London School of Economics.

The Reynolds Scholarships are provided by a bequest from the late James B. Reynolds, Class of 1890, and have been awarded annually since 1951.
