The Secretary has been given the privilege of reading a sketch of (for full name see*) by Matt Bushnell Jones. It is done with the thoroughness that you would expect from the author. Incidentally, he makes it interesting. This is a line that Matt is abundantly equipped to pursue, it being remembered that years back he published a full-orbed history of his native town of Waitsfield, Vt. Here's hoping that he will use some of his "reservation of time" in producing one or more books dealing with New England history.
Careful readers of data about '94 men will remember that some years back in a letter mention was made of the adeptness of President Frederick C. Allen as a maker of parish calls. Indeed, it was rumored at that time that the aforesaid President was going to leave law and take to the ministry. Just to keep his hand in, some weeks ago he made one of these calls on Woody Parker out in Hudson. He took the Secretary along as an unofficial observer. Well, Woody and his wife seemed much comforted by this visit, and incidentally Woody consented to take over the duties of class agent, recently but lamentably vacated by B. Smalley.
At this writing, Bud Lyon has announced that forty-three men have reported to him about their grandchildren. He threatens to publish at once, even though the remaining score of men don't divulge this interesting news.
