Congratulations to Vic Smith on his election as president of the Class Agents Association. He is in his second term as our class agent and has done a wonderful job in keeping a consistent donor and dollar level. Two years ago he was named Class Agent of the Year and now that he is the number one agent we owe him the top position in at least the Green Derby.

Moose Rowan, Sam Cutler, GeorgePierce, and the secretary had the annual golf match yesterday and it was unique "Moose" weather. It only rained for the first nine holes. The first two won the match but that was second to baggage error by Piedmont Airlines which had Rowan featuring spectacularly improvised dinner clothing. Gertie Cutler and Ruth Leggat joined us-while Allon Pierce obviously played the best golf of the day, winning a prize in a women's tournament on Cape Cod.

Frank Aldrich has provided news on two classmates, John Holdridge and JohnPhelps. The former, now retired, spent much time in China and was also U.S. Ambassador to Singapore and Indochina. In 1987 he and Martha renewed friendships in China as well as Taiwan. The Holdridges are remodeling a home in the Washington area but also spend a great deal of time on a West Virginia mountain farm where winter brings freezing weather.

Lee Kreindler received publicity for winning a $7.95 million verdict against Delta Air Lines, a record for compensatory damages in a wrongful death action. Lee is one of the leading lawyers for plaintiffs in aircraft accidents.

Bud Elder sent news of the celebration in Tiburon, Calif., when Tony Frank '53 was honored on his appointment as Postmaster General of the United States. If anyone can solve the problems of the postal system he should have a Dartmouth and Tuck degree.

John Hartshorn from Savannah, Ga., reminded that he was the highest of the spirited bidders on Bud Blackburn's painting at the 35th Reunion. The watercolor of Dartmouth Row hangs in his den as an important reminder of Dartmouth, of the fellowship of 1945, and of Bud.

hCarolyn Kohn Eckstein '76 sent a picture of a '45 group which had a mini-reunion at the home of her parents Ed and Lynn Kohn in early spring in Stuart, Fla. Also present were Bert and Pat Buehler, Bill and MaryMartin and Don and Dorothy Campbell.

Ginny Hampton died in her sleep on April 20 which brought to an end a long period of loving care by Harry Hampton and Pam and Marcy. Harry asked that the only memorial the family wants is that friends make it a point to help someone with Alzheimer's or a similar debilitating illness.

Don't forget the mini-reunion September 17-18. George Barr has sent plans, so call for reservations.
