Fraternity and society reunions during the Commencement period have been scheduled for Friday afternoon, June 12, in an attempt to increase attendance at these get-togethers and to avoid conflicts with other events on the Commencement program. Saturday and Sunday afternoons have been tried during the past two years without satisfactory results, so the reunions this coming June have been moved ahead to late Friday afternoon, when the only conflict will be with the opening concert of the Dartmouth Band from 5 to 6.
Another change in the Commencement program will be the holding of the Alumni Parade before the annual Alumni Luncheon rather than before the Cornell baseball game. Led by the Band and Sidney C. Hazelton 'O9, alumni marshal, the reuning classes in costume and the graduating class in senior blazers will form on the campus at noon and parade to Alumni Gymnasium, where the luncheon and presentation of the Fifty-Year Class will be held at 13:30.
William J. Main 'O6, president of the General Alumni Association, will preside at the Alumni Luncheon. Speakers will include President Hopkins; James W. Newton 'B6, president of the Fifty-Year Class; Richard F. Treadway '36, secretary-chairman of the senior class; Professor William A. Eddy, representing the faculty; and William J. Minsch 'O7, father of William J. Minsch Jr. '36, representing the parents of the graduating class.
At the Old Pine Speakers' representing the senior class address classmates, parents, and friends in the historic Class Day exercises which this year will be held on Saturday, June 13.
