ON JULY 28th, 1937, the association turned out in force to welcome and honor Ann Hopkins who was visiting in Los Angeles. This get-together took the form of a dinner dance at the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel and was enthusiastically attended by members of the association.
After a reception, the loyal band descended on the supper room and spent the evening listening to the music of "Spike" Hamilton '23. We were fortunate enough to have a national hook-up at the time and Spike responded with a medley of Dartmouth songs.
Those indulging in the evening's festivities were: Bob Archibald '3B, Robert Guggenheim '32, Walter B. Gibson 'll, James B. Gibson '4O, Robert G. Sands '32, Richard Husband '26, Rudy Pacht '35, Furher Haight '2l, Ted Beaher '29, Paul Sample '2O, Bill Palmer '3l, John Merrill '37, Mark Richard '3l, Bill Richards '32, Mai Metcalfe '32, Win Smoyer, '32, Ashton Castle '24, Leon Rothschild '24, H. The summer luncheons of the association at the Stock Exchange Club have been very well attended by the group who were fortunate in having as visitors this summer, Warner Bentley, who gave us a very interesting talk on the progress of dramatic work at Dartmouth, and Capt. Merrill Davis '3B, who cheered us on with the prospects of the team for this fall.
