The appointment of Donald L. Barr '18 of Garden City, N. Y., as Assistant Treasurer of the College was announced by President Hopkins late in October. In his new position, bearing the same title as that held by Earle C. Gordon '11, Mr. Barr will assist Halsey C. Edgerton '06, treasurer, in the handling of investments. He began his duties at Dartmouth on November 1.

Mr. Barr has worked in the investment securities field since 1921 and before assuming his present post was associated with Dick and Merle-Smith, New York investment firm. Following his graduation from College he was second lieutenant in the coast artillery, and from 1920 to 1931 he was engaged in public accounting. In 1921 he began his career in the investment field as a bond salesman. While at Dartmouth, Mr. Barr attended Tuck School, was active in dramatics, and was a member of Sphinx and Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Mr. Barr is married and has three children, a son, 13, a daughter, 10, and a stepson, 10. His first wife died in 1927.
