The deaths of four of the oldest living graduates of the College within the past few weeks have made a considerable change in the ranking of the ten oldest graduates. These oldest alumni listed in order of age now are: Zeeb Gilman '63, Edward Tuck '62, Omar W. Folsom '69, Samuel P. Atkinson '66, Henry A. Kendall '66, Jesse G. Mac Murphy '68, James A. Spalding '66, Darius Steward '75, Joshua T. Merrick '73, and Albert A. Abbott '71.

Statistics from the Alumni Recrds Office reveal that the largest of the classes is the Class of 1935 which has 695 living members, of whom all but 194 are graduates. Next largest is the Class of 1923 which has a total of 671 living members, of whom 394 are graduates and 277 are non-graduates. The figures for other classes reveal a definite trend toward an increase in the number of graduates and a decrease in the number of non-graduate members during the period since 1923.

There are on the records a total of 17,- 430 alumni. These are divided into 11,157 graduates and 5,490 non-graduates, the remaining number of 783 being divided among the alumni of the Medical School, Tuck School, and Thayer School who do not hold Dartmouth academic degrees, together with those who have received advanced and honorary degrees.
